When using Spresense
When using the purchased Spresense with NEQTO for the first time, please refer to the initial installation guide for installing NEQTO Engine.
Be sure to check the precautions before installing the NEQTO Engine.
Step 1. Setting up Spresense
Please refer to the Spresense system configuration and connect the Spresense hardware components together beforehand.
The following describes the procedure when using the Spresense hardware configuration linked above:
Please check the supported communication specifications before starting the initial setup.
Refer to Spresense Wi-Fi Initial Settings for more detailed information on the initial setup.
Before starting the NEQTO service, you will need to perform the necessary steps to register the serial number issued by NEQTO Console into your Spresense device. This is called challenge registration.
Find the Spresense device created during Step 2. Register a Device in the device list.
Click "Details" and note the Challenge Code in the device information.
This Challenge Code will be used in the following Spresense initial setup.
Spresense initial setup
Terminal software is required for Spresense initial settings.
Windows: TeraTerm and Mac: CoolTerm are used in this tutorial.
To perform the initial setup please follow the steps below:
Prepare the PC with Terminal software installed in advance.
You must install the USB serial driver before connecting the Spresense board to your PC. Please download and install the driver from the link below.
Connect the Spresense main board and PC using a USB cable for communication.
Open the device manager on your PC and check the COM port number to which Spresense is connected.
Start the terminal software.
Open the COM port. When the USB is connected to the PC for the first time, the FTDI USB serial conversion driver is automatically installed and a COM port is created. Open the generated COM port.
Set the Serial Port from Options.
Set the serial port and terminal settings as shown below.
Serial port setup
|Port||Generated COM port|
|Stop Bits||1 bit|
|Newline||CR+LF (Carriage Return + Line Feed)|
If you enter a key within 3 seconds of opening the COM port, the User Console mode is entered. User Console mode provides a command console function for inputting various setting commands and displaying real-time logs. If the prompt does not appear, disconnect the USB from the PC and repeat from step 3.
